We seldom see a shovel mentioned in Survival Preps advice and this post reminded me just how useful and necessary a shovel is wtshtf. |
Re: THE OUTHOUSE
I have neighbors that still use an outhouse, no running water in the house. They have also never been more than 50 miles from home! Yep, I live in the sticks!

Re: THE OUTHOUSE
Ah yes.
Now this thread brings back some childhood memories. |
Re: THE OUTHOUSE
if you live in cold climate
and really really hate your neighbors that have an outhouse when it is still cold, in the early spring, manage to drop a stick of bakers yeast into their outhouse when the temperatures rise, so will the yeast and so will everything else |
Re: THE OUTHOUSE
Infidel, you are diabolical! :laugh_m:
I've used them in other countries. Ick! The funniest one I've ever seen was one in Ixcatlan, Mexico, perched on a slope about 100 feet above the reservoir. The slope fell away under the outhouse, and the local free-range hogs would excitedly run up and wait under it whenever they saw someone heading for it. Oh, and it faced the town and didn't have a door or even a curtain. Mind you, foreign visitors are so uncommon in the area that a crowd of locals follow you everywhere you go, so sneaking off for private business isn't really an option. The best we could do was to try to "stand guard" for each other and get over any bashfulness about bodily functions really fast! :haha: |
Re: THE OUTHOUSE
I remember using them back in Russia in 1970's as a child
